Counselling and Therapy

Talking therapies for adults in Bromley

Counselling Services

Welcome to Mark Mahoney Therapy. I am a BACP registered therapist providing counselling and therapy.

I help clients with a range of mental health issues, including therapy for anxiety, therapy for anger management, ADHD and low confidence or self-esteem. My approach is integrative. Put simply, this means I adapt my approach based what you as an individual require. This could mean examining the here and now and the coping mechanisms you currently use to protect yourself. It could mean looking back at your childhood to understand where these came from.

I provide talking therapy and the focus is always going to be on you, your wants and needs. I will work with you in the way that suits you best in a confidential and safe space. My sessions are client led meaning we proceed at your pace.

I'd recommend we start off with a 20 minute phone call. This will enable you tell me what is happening and start to explain why you have reached out for counselling and therapy. It is an opportunity for you to find out whether I am the right counsellor for you.

How can therapy help you?

Simply having someone who listens to you without judgement. Whether it's struggling with anger management or you spend too much time managing anxiety, counselling and therapy will provide you with a space for you to unload, to speak about the worries you tend not to share with anyone else.

I use a variety of approaches as a therapist to suit your unique needs. Sometimes this approach involves a deep dive into your past, to try and work out the patterns and coping mechanisms you have developed (often without awareness) and to help you update them to suit you better.

If you would like to discuss how we might work together, please call me. Alternatively, get in touch by using the email above or below.

Speak in Confidence and no judgement

In my practice I create a safe and supportive space. Here, you can freely share your thoughts and feelings without fear of judgment. I'm here to listen with care and understanding, offering a confidential environment where you can express yourself openly.

Talking with a therapist works

Sharing your problems can be a pivotal step in finding solutions. Whether experiencing anxiety or panic attacks, or navigating mood swings and depression, you are encountering difficulties and mental health issues that are impacting on your life. Talking with a therapist is a great way to kickstart a positive change in your life.

Make better, healthier new choices

Collaboratively, we can explore the challenges you're encountering, offering valuable insights into the root cause of your critical voice, anxiety or anger. As a therapist I will not provide you with solutions, my aim is to help you understand the cause of your mental health struggles and to provide you with the tools for you to make changes.
